Le Coq Sportif: a completely plant-based shoe

Today, more and more companies are investing in and producing eco-sustainable products. Today, we're sharing the story of Le Coq Sportif , a French sports equipment manufacturer, which Labo0 has chosen to include among its brands.
If we told you that this company's shoes are plant-based, local, and natural , would you believe us? That's right.
This new range of shoes, Gaia and Terra , is made from plant-based materials.
The vegetable-tanned leather used for the upper is obtained from grapes, specifically from the residues not used to produce wine or grappa. These residues are then transformed into a paste that is placed on a cotton canvas to create its leather shape using the coating technique.
Beyond the upper, Le Coq Sportif has gone further: the sole is made of rubber, while the insole is made of cork. The branding on the tongue and laces are made of cotton.
We talked about local , why?
Because the shoes are produced entirely in France and Portugal for a very specific reason: Portugal has a long tradition of producing sneakers, thanks to numerous local producers who have developed unique know-how, and the grapes used for the raw materials are all Italian.
A year ago, Le Coq Sportif chose to no longer use petroleum-derived plastic to make its shoes, and we have no choice but to embrace this philosophy and welcome it to our e-commerce site .
